Thursday Multiple Morning Workshop-May 2009
“Precious Cargo: Clay Box and Tea Bowl”

Instructor: Kristina Stafford
Ability Level: All Levels

In this multi-session workshop students will learn several hand building and surface decorating techniques. Students will create a slab-built ‘box’ and the object it contains, such as a tea bowl or cup (the student may decide what the box will contain). Extensive surface decoration will be applied to both box and bowl utilizing a unique subtractive technique as well as under glazing. After glazing both objects the class will then learn ‘flocking’ to be applied to the interior of the box creating a rich texture.

Functionally Speaking
I have made some pots, after a long vacation from functionality in general I have taken back to my roots. Please let me know what you think.
